The last few days have been quite stressful for me. To make myself feel better, I made a gigantic seafood boil. I included all of my favorites: king crab legs, shrimp, lobster claws, sausage links, and sweet corn. I would have thrown in some clams, but unfortunately, they were not in season. This turned out to be good because it turned out to be way too much seafood for little ole me.
For the sauce, it’s an update of Seafood Boil Sauce: Garlic Butter Lemon Pepper. The only change is the addition of Thai red curry paste. Not only does the Thai red curry paste provides great Southeast Asian flavor and aroma from ginger, galangal and kaffir lime leaves, but it also makes the sauce a beautiful vibrant red. I steamed the seafood first and served the sauce on the side, but you can also tossed the steamed seafood into the sauce. The latter may require a bib and a lot more napkins 😉
Recipe below. Happy cooking!

Ingredients
Sauce
- 4 sticks unsalted butter (1 lb/16 oz)
- 2 heads garlic (about 10 large cloves; peel and finely chop)
- 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
- 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
- 2 teaspoons lemon pepper seasoning
- 2 tablespoons ground cayenne pepper (if not available, substitute with paprika or chili powder)
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup Thai red curry paste
Steamed Seafood
- 3 sausage links
- 3 ears of corn
- 2 lbs lobster claws
- 2 lbs King crab legs
- 2 lbs shrimp
Instructions
- Make the sauce: In a large skillet, melt butter on medium-low heat. Add garlic, Old Bay seasoning, Cajun seasoning, lemon pepper seasoning, cayenne pepper, sugar and red curry paste. Stir until combined.
- Serve: Mix with steamed seafood or serve sauce on the side.
Notes
I get my steamed King crab legs from Costco, which are incredibly salty. If you find yours to be salty too, boil them instead of steaming to reduce the saltiness.
