Simple No Cook Soy Dipping Sauce (Nuoc Cham Xi Dau)
Here is a soy dipping sauce recipe that requires no cooking. To make this sauce, simply toss together some pantry ingredients and you’re done.
This soy dipping sauce offers a savory and acidic taste that goes nicely with pot stickers (dumplings), wontons, blanched vegetables and steamed/fried fish.

Simple No Cook Soy Dipping Sauce (Nuoc Cham Xi Dau)
Makes 1-1/2 cups
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup rice wine vinegar
- 1/2 cup granulated white sugar
- 3/4 cup all-purpose soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 red Thai chili pepper (slice thin; optional)
Instructions
- In a medium-size bowl, mix together vinegar, sugar, soy sauce, garlic powder and red chili pepper.
- Serve immediately or store in an airtight container in the fridge.
